Crossover Inductors

What is the cleavage of a crossover network represent the President, and how to calculate it?
I built a network of recovery using only simple inductor as a lowpass filter with a single capacitor as a high-Pass Filter for a class of electronics. (Then connected to a woofer and tweeter) I have all the data circuit, including graphics of the transfer function versus frequency, but now I need to calculate the cutoff observed we build the network, then calculate the values of the capacitor and inductor required to establish a network connection with a cutoff frequency of 1 kHz for the two speakers. Problem is that I have absolutely no idea what a rate cut "is, so any help would be appreciated.
In a low-pass filter, the cutoff frequency is the frequency with which the production down 3 dB point cd. This corresponds to the point where the output voltage decreases by 30% (or more accurately, falling to 1/sqrt (2) of the DC value). Therefore, if you measured the voltage output frequency (with an amplitude of Input Voltage constant) Then, simply find the frequency with which the output voltage decreases by 30%. Do the same high card, but this time to the point where the voltage is 30% less than the higher frequency flat. If that designed the network of speakers, the lowpass and highpass would even frequency.
